At one Kennel, 11/18 of the dogs are small, 1/9 are medium size, and the rest are large. What fraction of the dogs are large?
--------------
1 - (11/18) - (2/18)
= (18/18) - (11/18) - (2/18)
= 5/18 of the dogs are large

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If 11%2F18 of the dogs are small and 1%2F9 of the dogs are medium, you need to find out what fraction of the whole kennel this represents.
11%2F18+%2B+1%2F9+=+11%2F18+%2B+2%2F18=13%2F18
Now the whole kennel is 18%2F18 so you'll subtract the 13%2F18 from the 18%2F18 to get 5%2F18
So, 5%2F18 of the dogs are large!
