Question 865953: The word problem is actually Applications of Quadratic Equation but i couldnt find it under the subject.
The Height of a kicked soccer ball can be modeled with the function h=-0.01x^2+1.18x+2. The horisontal distance in feer from the point of impact with the kickers foor is x, and h is the height of the ball in feet.
A. Find the maximum height of the kick
B.Then find how far away the ball was when it hit the ground

Hi
A. h=-0.01x^2+1.18x+2 = -.01(x-59)^2 + 36.81. Max height 1s 36.81ft
B. 59*2 = 118 ft away when it hit the ground (at 59ft it was at max pt of parabola)
