Question 806337: A chemical compound requires 8 ounces of chemical A and 12 ounces of chemical B. A mixture requires 24
ounces of chemical A and 30 ounces of chemical B. How can you fix the mixture to make the chemical compound ?

Those ratios for "requires" are not the same. One of those in your description needs to be changed. How much of A and B are available?
8 to 12 is the same as 2 to 3. If a mixture WANTED is 24 ounce of A and 30 ounce of B, then for 30 ounce of B, the amount of A to use would be . One mixture which can be made then is 20 ounce of A with 30 ounce of B.
On the other hand, if chosen were 24 ounce of A, then the amount of B to use would be ounce. Not possible, because only 30 ounce of B available.
A mixture of 50 ounces of "chemical compound" could be made:
20 ounce of chemical A and 30 ounce of chemical B.
