Question 764042: A man died and left his estate of 125,000 to his wife, his daughter, and his son. If the wife receives twice as much as his son, and his daughter received $5,000 more than his son, how much did the man leave to his son?
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Son = x
Wife 2x
Daughter x + 5000
x + 2x +(x + 5000) = 125000
4x + 5000 = 125000
4x = 120000
x = 30000
Son received = $30,000
Wife received = $60,000
Daughter received = $35,000
Total = $125,000
Hope this helps.
