A 35 meter wooden pole is cut into two parts that have the ratio of 5 to 2. How much longer is the longer part than the smaller part?

5:2 is the same as 5x:2x
EQUATION:
5x+2x=35
7x=35
x=5
The smaller part is 2x= 10 feet
