you want to draw an enlargement of a design that is painted on a 3in by 5in card.
You plan to draw on an 8 1/2in by 11inch piece of paper. What are the dimensions of the largest complete enlargement you can draw?
I was wondering doesn't it already tell you the dimension by saying the paper is 8 1/2 by 11 inches?
:
The largest dimension can be 11 but you have to maintain the same Length/Width ratio of the original
:
Let w = the width of the enlargement
:
=
cross multiply
5w = 33
w = 33/5
w = 6 inches is the width
:
The enlargement would be 11 by 6 another words
