Question 698548: The scale of the plan of the house is 2 cm to 3 m. If the room is 7 cm by 6 cm in the plan , what is the actual area of the room?

The scale 2cm to 3m is the same as 1cm to 1.5m.
This is much easier to work with.
7cm on the plan is therefore 7 X 1.5m in real life, this is 10.5m.
Similarly 6cm on the plan is 6 X 1.5m in real life, this is 9m
The area of the room is length X width, which is
9m X 10.5m = 94.5m^2 (square meters)
