Question 696366: In a class of 40 students, 80% are business majors. Of the 24 students who passed the mid-term examination, 75% are business majors. What percentage of students in the class who are not business majors passed the examination?
Answer by henew(13)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Business major students in the class = 80% of 40 = 32.
Non-Business major( other)in class = 40-32=8
Business majors who passed the exam = 75% of 24= 0.75 x 24= 18.
Other who passed exam= 24-18=6
We have to find ration of others who passed with respect to total others. which is ...6/8= 0.75 = 75%.
