Is a 10% discount followed by a 20% discount equal to a 30% discount? Explain
NO
After the first discount, that amt is discounted by the amt of 2nd discount
:
Take an example of an original price of $100 discounted 10%
after the 1st discount, the price is $90
Now you discount $90 by 20%
.20 * 90 = 18
Now the price is 90 - 18 = $72
:
A straight 30% discount would give you a price of $70
