1/4 of an hour is 15 minutes. Every four 15 minutes make an hour. If Jeff hiles 1/2 a mile in 15 minutes, then he hikes (1/2)(4) miles in an hour. This is 2 miles. Find (2)(2) to find that he hikes 4 miles in 2 hours.

"Lisa hikes 1/3 of a mile in 1/6 hour." 1/6 hour is 10 minutes. Every six 10 minutes make an hour. So, Lisa hiles 1/3 of a mile in 10 minutes. To find how far she hikes in a hour, we take (1/3)(6). Lisa also hikes 2 miles in an hour and 4 miles in 2 hours.
