Question 63692: Please solve the following problem using the a)Arithmetic method and proportional relationship method.
1. In mixing fuel for a 4 cycle motor, one must mix 4 parts of oil with 16 parts gasoline. How much oil is needed to mix with 24 liters of gasoline.

Answer by checkley71(8403)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
oil/gas=4/16 or 1/4 so to get 24 liters of mix you need 4 times as much gas as oil.
o+4o=24
5o=24
o=24/5
o=4.8 liters of oil mixed with
4*4.8=19.2 liters of gas to give you 24 liters of a 1/4 mix p
proof
4.8+19.2=24
24=24 &
4.8/19.2=1/4 cross multiplying we get
19.2=19.2
