b. Bianca pays $500.00 more than Alfred. Calculate the cost of the car.

1/4 is 3/12, and 1/3 is 4/12, so A and B pay 7/12 of the cost. The difference between what A pays and what B pays is 1/12, so $500 is 1/12 of the total cost.
