Let x and y represent the smaller and larger number respectively
Three times a larger number added to 4 times a smaller number totals 24.
When twice the smaller number is subtracted from twice the larger number, the result is 2.
3y + 4x = 24
2y - 2x = 2 |Multiply 2EQ by 2 and add to the 1st EQ
7y = 28
y = 4 and x = 3
