The amount of tread left on a tire varies inversely as the number of miles the tire has traveled. A tire that has traveled 47,000 mi has 5/16in of tread left. How much treat will be left on a tire that has traveled 30,000mi?

5/16 = k/47000
k = 5*47000/16 = 14687.5

t = 14687.5/30000
t =~ 0.4896 inch
