Divide 30 by 15 and add 10 = 25
but
Divide 30 by .5 and add 10 = 70
Which equation do you think is right by the way it is worded?

Divide 30 by 1/2 means 30/(1/2) = 30/0.5 = 60

If they wanted you to cut 30 in half, they would have said "Divide 30 by 2", "Multiply 30 by 1/2" or "Cut 30 in half" (or something along those lines)

So the answer would be 70.
