Question 537302: Elisa can pick forty bushels of apples in ten hours. One day her friend Huong helped her and only took 4.12 hours. How long would it take Huong to do it alone?
Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
every hour Elisa did 1/10 of the job.
in 4.12 hours she did 4.12/10 or .412 of the job leaving 1-.412 for Huong.
1-.412=.588
4.12/x=.588
x=7.006 hours
or did you really mean 4 1/2 hours and not 4.12 hours?
