Let t = time in hrs required by the 1st train which leaves at 6:00 am

The 2nd train leaves an hour later so it's time will be (t-1)

Dist = speed * time:

1st train dist = 2nd train dist
40t = 50(t-1)
40t = 50t - 50
40t - 50t = -50
-10t = -50
t = -50/-10
t = +5 hours

Add 5 hrs to 6:00 am; at 11:00 am they will be the same distance:
