When you have a question that has "what percent", that's what you're trying to find. That means you can have a variable, say , to represent that percentage. A percentage also is something that is written with 100 as the denominator. So, that mean we're trying to find . Now we just have to solve for . Simplifying the equation, we get and then multiply both sides by 2 to get . That means that 72% of 50 is 36. Hope that helps!
