Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2r-3s= -14
3r+2s=18

2(2r-3s)= 2(-14)
3(3r+2s)=3(18)

4r-6s=-28
9r+6s=54

13r=26
r=26/13
r=2

2r-3s=-14
2(2)-3s=-14
4-3s=-14
-3s=-14-4
-3s=-18
s=-18/(-3)
s=6

Answers: r=2 and s=6

solve by the elimination method:
2r-3s= -14
3r+2s = 18
-----------------
Multiply the 1st eqn by 2 and the 2nd eqn by 3, then add them.
4r-6s = -28
9r+6s = 54
-------------- Add
