One side of a rectangle is 12 inches and the other is x inches. What values of x will make the perimeter at most 44 inches?
----------------
Perimeter = 2(L + W)
----
2(x + 12) <= 44
---
Divide both sides by 2 to get:
x+12 <= 22
Subtract 12 from both sides to get:
x <= 10 inches
