Answer by vleith(2983) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Mr Maddox ratio is 3:2. So there are 5 'parts'.
Each part is 4.
So there are 3*4 girls = 12
And 2*4 boys = 8
12 + 8 = 20 , so you have a good ratio
Ms Woods ratio is 2:1. So ther eare 3 parts
since you cant have part of person, each part is closer to 6 people.
Thus Ms Wood has 2*6 = 12 girls
and 1*6 boys.
A ratio of 2:1 is not possilbe with exactly 17 people.
