Hi,
Let x represent the total number of bake items
1/12 + 1/3 Or 5/12 of them were not cupcakes
x - (5/12)x = 35
12x - 5x = 35*12
7x = 420
x = 60, the total number of bake items

(1/12)*60 + (1/3)*60 + 35 = 5 + 20 + 35 = 60
