Question 365996: If technician 1 made five fewer calls in the month of March and five more calls in the month of April, what effect, if any, would there be on his yearly completion percentage? Show calculation that supports your argument.
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if his average calls per month is x, then through the course of the year, he will make 12*x calls.
if in the month of march, he makes 5 fewer calls, then he completes x-5 calls in march.
if in the month of april, he makes 5 more calls, then he completes x+5 calls in april.
if you add march and april together you get (x-5) + (x+5) calls made.
combine like terms and you get 2*x calls in 2 months.
his monthly average is still x.
it will have no impact on yearly percentage.
10*x + (x-5) + (x+5) = 12*x.
divide that by 12 and you still get x.
