Question 364417: The ratio of boys is 1:2. If there are 900 students how many are boys?
Answer by amoresroy(361) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x = the number of boys
900-x = the number of girls
x/(900-x) = 1/2
Multiply both sides by 2
2x/(900-x) = 1
2x = 900 - x
3x = 900
x = 300
There are 300 boys
