We have 500 pounds of plastic with 10% glass mixed in it. We also have 100 pounds of plastic with 30% of glass in it. How many pounds of plastic with 15% glass can you make with two materials?
Hint: You will have some 10% glass material left over.
The answer is supposed to be 400lbs, but I need to show the work.

(30%)(100) + (10%)(x) = (15%)(100 + x)

3000 + 10x = 1500 + 15x

1500 = 5x ___ 300 = x

300 lb of 10% along with 100 lb of 30% makes 400 lb of 15%
