Question 285489: You have 280 green beads, 200 yellow beads, and 240 blue beads to make bracelets. If you use all the beads, what is the greatest number of identical bracelets that you can make? How many beads of each color would be on each bracelet?
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You have:

280 green
240 blue
200 yellow

ratio of beads is 280:240:200

divide each one of these by 200 and you get:

ratio of beads is 1.4:1.2:1

The smallest integer you can multiply each of these by is 5 in order to get all integers.

You get ratio of beads is 7:6:5

With that ratio you can make 40 strings of beads.

That would be the greatest number of identical beads.

You can make less strings of beads with more beads on each string and use up all the beads, but you can't make more strings of beads with less beads on each string because then you will not be able to use all of the beads.
