After the 1st discount, it cost
After the 2nd discount, it costs
The original cost was $400

x= original cost
.9*x= discounted price
.85*(.9x)= final price
.85*.9x=306
.765x=306
x=400
note if the 10% and 15% were added together it would be
.75x=306
x=408
