Nick had 1/2 lb of walnuts.
He ate 3/10 lb of walnuts.
What part of a pound of walnuts did he have left?
--------------------
Start: 1/2 lb
Ate: (3/10)(1/2) = 3/20
Amount left: (1/2) - (3/20)
= (10/20) - (3/20)
= 7/20 lb
