Let the two numbers be x and y.
Given, x+y = 50 ..(1)
Also, x/y = 9/16
16x= 9y
16x-9y = 0 ...(2)
(1)*9=> 9x+9y = 450 ...(3)
(2)+(3)=> 25x = 450
x = 450/25
x = 18
Substituting in (1), we get
18+y = 50
y = 50-18
y = 32
Therefore the required numbers are 18 and 32
