They sold the dress at 40% discount or 60% of the markup price
If they came out even they sold it for the original price.
let x= markup price
w=wholesale price
.60x=w
3/5m=w
m=5/3w
1w=3/3w=wholesale price
(5/3)w-(3/3)w=(2/3)w=67%
5/3 =1.67 markup price is 1.67*wholesale price
