If a team consists 20 members in which 20% are mathematician then how many member should they hire so that the ratio would become 10/11
:
Let x = no. of members to be hired to accomplish this
:
.2 * 20 = 4 math guys
then
20 - 4 = 16 are non-math
:
The ratio non-math to the total:
:
=
Cross multiply
11(x+16) = 10(x+20)
11x + 176 = 10x + 200
11x - 10x = 200 - 176
x = 24 non math members need to be hired
