Question 224292: The rate at which calories are burnt is proportional to the weight of the person. 3,500 calories must be burnt off for a person to lose 1 pound. How many
hours of walking at 4 1/2 mi/h would be needed for a 190-pound person to
lose 4 pounds? A 150 pound person burns 440 calories an hour walking at 4 1/2 mph
Need to burn 14,000 calories. A 150 pound person would need to walk 31.8 hours. How do I determine how long a 190 pound person needs to walk? I know it is less than that of a 150 pound person.
Thanks for any help. Looking for the proper formula, not looking to be given the answer.
