50% of the students are girls, and =50% of the students are boys.

Let us assume that there are 100 students in the class for simplicity (the number you choose makes no difference).
So, there are 50 boys and 50 girls out of those 100 students.
If you multiply the number of boys by 3, and the number of girls by 2, you have 150 boys and 100 girls.
The percentage of boys is now =60%
