Let x=length
y=width
The perimeter of a rectangle is 84 ft. So,

2(x+y)=84
x+y=42

the ratio of the width to the length is 2:5 so

5y=2x
y=2x/5

Substituting this to x+y=42,

x+(2x/5)=42
(5x/5)+(2x/5)=42
7x/5=42
x/5=6
x=6*5=30>>length
x+y=42
y+30=42
y=42-30=12>>width
