How do i solve the problem 5 one-fourth/ 2 and two-sevenths?
---------------
(5 1/4)/(2 2/7) (not a good way to express it)
=(21/4)/(16/7)
Dividing by 16/7 is the same as multiplying by its inverse, 7/16
=(21/4)*(7/16)
Now multiply the NUMs and the DENs
= 21*7/4*16
= 147/64 That's it. You can make it 2 19/64, but that's confusing. It's ok on paper, but not a good format generally.
