Question 129259:
Sharon has a bottle containing 45 mililiters of 15% HCI solution and a bottle of 35% HCI solution. She wants a 25% solution. How much of the 35% solution myst be added to the 15% solution so that a 25% concentration is created?

Answer by checkley71(8403)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
45*.15+.35X=.25(45+X)
6.75+.35X=11.25+.25X
.35X-.25X=11.25-6.75
.1X=4.5
X=4.5/.1
X=45 ML OF 35% NEEDS TO BE ADDED.
PROOF:
45*.15+.35*45=.25(45+45)
6.75+15.75=.25*90
22.5=22.5
