.

Since we are given this triple proportion, we introduce

    2x as an amount for A
    3x as an amount for B
    8x as an amount for C

After that, we have this equation

    8x - 3x = 120  dollars

which gives us

      5x    = 120

       x    = 120/5 = 24.

Thus,  A obtained  2*24 = 48 dollars;  B obtained 3*24 = 72 dollars and  C  obtained 8*24 = 192 dollars.

The sum is  48 + 72 + 192 = 312 dollars.    ANSWER

Solved.
