How many more crayons does Zoey have than Kyle?

Let x be number of the Zoey's crayons.

Then the number of Kyle's crayons is 0.5x.


The given is that

    x + 0.5x = 135,

or

      1.5x  = 135

which implies  x =  = 90.


Thus Zoey has 90 crayons, while Kyle has 0.5*90 = 45 crayons.


So, the answer to the problem is 90 - 45 = 45 crayons.
