Question 1191342: My employer announced that everyone would be receiving a pay increase. My
hourly salary went from $12.60 to $13.85; What percent was my salary
increase?

Answer by math_tutor2020(3817)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

change = new - old
change = 13.85 - 12.60
change = 1.25
Your hourly salary increased by $1.25

Divide that result by the original hourly salary to find the percent increase.

percent increase = (change/old)*100%
percent increase = (1.25/12.60)*100%
percent increase = (0.0992)*100%
percent increase = 9.92% approximately
