Then number of bookmarks Ali made on Friday = J - 24
As Joshua made 30 more on Saturday, he made J + 30 over the 2 days
And, as Ali made 40 on Saturday, his total over 2 days was: J - 24 + 40, or J + 16
Total bookmarks made over the 2 days: J + 30 + J + 16, or 2J + 46
With Ali ending up with a total that's of the total number of bookmarks made, we have:
7J + 112 = 3(2J + 46) ------- Multiplying by LCD, 7
7J + 112 = 6J + 138
7J - 6J = 138 - 112
Number of bookmarks Joshua made on Friday, or J = 26
