Find the percent concentration of the resulting gold alloy.
:
let x = resulting percent in decimal form
mixture total: 40 + 60 = 100 oz
:
100x = .4(40) + .1(60)
100x = 16 + 6
100x = 22
x =
x = .22 which is 22% gold concentration
