Question 1166458: In the NBA this season, the Golden State Warriors has a standing of 15 wins
with 50 losses. The 8th-seeded Portland Trailblazers meanwhile has a standing of 35
wins and 39 losses and was included in the playoffs. Assuming that the Warriors wins all
their remaining games, how many games will it take for them to get ahead of the
Trailblazers?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is missing are the number of games left and the W-L record for the final games for the Blazers.
GS will have to win 25 more games and the Blazers not win at all to pass in the number of wins.
But they will still have more losses.
Games behind. they are 20 behind with the wins and 11 ahead with the losses so 31/2 or 15.5 games behind.
If they win their next 16 games and the Blazers lose their next 16 games, GS would be ahead with a record of 31 and 50 vs. 35 and 55. They would be a 1/2 game ahead.
