Also, the profit made in 2016 was R3 million more than the profit made in 2014. If the total profit made in these three years was R23 million, determine the profit made in each year.

profit in 2015 is x
profit in 2014 is 0.75x
profit in 2016 is 0.75x+3
the sum of these three is 2.5x+3, and it equals 23
so 2.5x=20
x=R8 million
the three years were 6 million, 8 million and 9 million.
