Question 1098: The New Zealand relay team finished second in the 800-meter freestyle relay with a time of 8:14.80. What was the average time for the four New Zealand swimmers?
Answer by usyim88hk(158)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It is simple, since there are four swimmers, divide the time by 4!!!
8:14.80. = 8 mins 14 sec 80 (kilosec???)
now divide them by 4
8/4 = 2
14/4 = 3.5
80/4 = 20
IF we put them back into word form, we will get 2 mins 3.5 sec 20 (kilosec???)
but we can't have 3.5 sec, we have to do sth about the .5 so change its unit into (kilosec?) and we can get
2 mins 3 sec 70 (kilosec???)
that's the answer
