Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
He walked (2/3)+(1/3)*(3/4)=(2/3)+(1/4)=11/12 of the distance
0.1 km is the remaining distance which is 1- (11/12)=(1/12) of the distance
multiply by 12 and 1.2 km is the entire distanceANSWER
He walked 0.8 km, stole a ride for (3/4)*0.4 km or 0.3 km, and that leaves 0.1 km left.
