.
Let x be the time for Canadian Goose (CG), in hours.

Then the time for the Great Blue Heron (GBH) is (14 - x) hours.

The distance equation is

20*x + 10*(14-x) = 180.

Simplify and solve for x:

20x + 140 - 10x = 180,

20x - 10x = 180 - 140,

10x = 40,

x =  = 4.

Answer. GC time is 4 hours. GBH time is 14-4 = 10 hours.

Solved.
