Any time we have a:b:c, we can interpret that as:

The fraction of the total which a is, is 
The fraction of the total which b is, is 
The fraction of the total which c is, is

We have A:T:B = 1:3:4

So the fraction of the total which Andy gets is  or .

So  is the FRACTION of the total which Andy gets.

All we have to do is change the fraction  to a percent.

Divide 1 by 8, get 0.125, move the decimal two places right
and put on a %
