Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
probability (numerator given here; denominator is 36)
for a ==numerator
2=1
3=2
4=3
5=4
6=5
7=6
8=5
9=4
10=3
11=2
12=1
So the answer to the first is 5/36
a number fewer than 8 is 21/36 or 7/12
