Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
28 acres is 70%
28:70 as x:30 is one way
28/70=x/30
cross-multiply and 840=70x; x=12 acres.
Another is 28:70 as x:100, the whole field. This will lead to 40 acres for the whole field or 12 acres after lunch.
