Question 1039868: D'Andra makes two investments that total $12,000. One investment yields 8% per year and the other 10% per year. The total interest for one year is $1090. Find the amount invested at each rate.
Answer by jorel555(1290) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let n be the amount invested at 10%. Then:
.1(n)+.08(12000-n)=1090
.1n+960-.08n=1090
.02n=130
n=130/.02=$6500 invested at 10%; $5500 invested at 8%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
